Children
‘Children are made very welcome at The White House Hotel, we can cater
for all ages; cots, baby bedding, bunk beds and highchairs are all available.
All children’s meals are charged at half price and with the largest range
of visitor attraction leaflets on display they’ll find plenty
to do come rain or shine.’
Smoking
The hotel now operates a no smoking policy in all indoor areas, there is a heated outdoor area where guests may smoke
Pets
‘Our 2 resident pet cats ‘Smokey’ and ‘Elliott’ request
that you check first before you bring your furry friends along, so
we ask you to respect their wishes!’
Booking/Cancellation
Booking/Cancellation Our online booking service is fast, convenient
and secure. Once you have submitted your booking details we will confirm
the arrangements by e mail. You may book as many rooms as you like
for any dates that you need. - all you need to do is turn up!
How do I cancel?
If you need to cancel please telephone the hotel direct
on +44(0)1792 473856. Please note a cancellation fee equal to the first
nights B&B accommodation charge
will be made when less than 24 hours notice is given.

Car Parking In Hotel Car Park

Entrance Gate always fixed open 1600mm wide
There are 5 stone steps, then 1800mm then 1 last step to the front
door.
Steps measure 250mm deep by 190mm high 1400mm wide with white tactile
edgings
Handrails are provided to both sides of the entrance steps and
continuing on the right hand side to the main front door and the last
step up into the hotel entrance.
Outer front door 960 mm wide, wooden and painted white fixed open 06.30
until 22.30 lever handle with key card access when closed.
Inner coloured glass wooden door 860mm locked, opens inwards lever
handle
Bell Push to right hand side of each door 1380mm to outer, 880mm to
inner door.
Once you have checked in, or by prior arrangement*, you will have a
Key Card to access the front door(s) 900mm to outer, 850 mm to inner
door.
Insert card chip on left, a green light indicates together with a beep
alert, depress smooth brass finished lever handle to gain entry. You
have approx 10 seconds to depress lever.
*We can mail a pre-programmed entry card for your convenience, you
may
order free of charge when you book.

The ground floor is on one level with access through two glazed wooden
doors 740mm to Dining Room and 850mm to Lounge.
Access to 1st toilet not adapted, door 740mm wide opens outwards
Access to 2nd toilet not adapted, door 740mm wide opens inwards
Colour contrasting scheme with red carpets, cream skirting and doors
and
sky blue coloured wall under dado rail.
Well-lit tourist information counter. There is always a receptionist
available to assist 7.00 until 23.00.

Dining Room
Moveable furniture: 4 tables, 16 chairs
Chairs are steel framed armless stackable with upholstered fabric seats
and backs, fairly light and easy to move
Tables are white cloth-covered for good colour contrast
Breakfast involves some self-service; please ask staff if you prefer
table
service.
Menus are available in large print.
We serve drinks to the table; we do not have a bar.
Lounge
Moveable furniture: 2 coffee tables, 3 leather chairs with throws & cushions.
Fixed window seat with higher and upright seating position.
Wide screen TV with earphone for loop

Bedrooms and Ensuite Bathrooms
Fire alarm system uses 80db warning sounders in rooms. We have a member of management available whose responsibility it is to make sure a person with a hearing impairment is warned in the unlikely event of the fire alarm being activated.
Mobile phone with vibrating alert is available for text messaging
information to you in the bedroom. (Note that ‘Orange’ has
very poor reception in the hotel, all other mobiles seem to work fine)
We have bathroom facilities (swing taps) for people with a dexterity
disability.
You can wheel a wheelchair upto the bathroom entrance, but the bathrooms
are all too small to wheel it in and around.
All power showers have thermostats to ensure our guests do not suffer
a burn when taking a shower. Please note that our hot water is very
hot, please make sure the washbasin is filled with cold water first.
Televisions are remote controlled.

When you book using the secure server, your information is sent direct
to our Hotel reservations staff using the best possible and latest
secure server software (SSL) available, which encrypts all of your
personal details. This means that your information, which includes
your name, address, and credit or debit card number, cannot be read
as it travels over the internet.
Your information is then held in our secure database for the duration
of your stay. As required by the UK Data Protection Acts of 1984 and
1998, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure
of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access
and use of your information.
What information do we collect? How do we use it?
When Booking:
-We require certain information to allow us to process your hotel booking
and notify you of the booking confirmation. When you book, we need
to know your name, address and email address, as well as your credit
or debit card number and expiry date. Credit card details are required
as a guarantee - your card is not charged until you finish your stay
at the hotel.
-We ask for your telephone number so that we can contact you if there
is a question concerning your reservation.
Special offers:
From time to time we may have special deals that may be of interest
to you. Out of respect for your privacy we present the option to
opt out of these types of communications.
Surveys & contests:
We may request information from our customers via surveys or competitions.
Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving
the use and satisfaction of our site. When you enter a competition,
we may request information such as your name, contact details and
demographic information such as age and postcode.
Participation in these surveys or competitions is voluntary and you
have the choice whether or not to disclose this information. Contact
information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes.
Newsletters:
Guests also have the option to subscribe to our newsletter. If so,
we ask for contact information such as your name and email address.
Site tracking
The White House Hotel may use tracking software to monitor customer
traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design and
layout of our site to better meet the needs of our customers. This
software does not enable The White House Hotel to capture any personally
identifying information.
Sharing information
The White House Hotel in association with 'The Queensborough Group'
may share aggregate statistics about hotels' customers, traffic patterns,
and reservations with their suppliers and partners, but these statistics
do not include any personally identifying information.
The White House Hotel in association with 'The Queensborough Group'
never disclose information about guests to any other person or organisation
without their consent unless there is an emergency situation that
requires it or they are legally required to do so.

Check In / Check Out
You may chck in from 17:00 hours. If you wish to check in earlier
you are requested to call the hotel.
You must check out by 11:00 hours. Later check out times, upto 6
pm will be subject to a 50% surcharge on the cost of a one nights
stay, this must be arranged in advance with the hotel reception.
